REITER Berlin prospect und 401contemporary freuen sich, zu dieser intergenerativen Ausstellung mit vier Künstlern einzuladen, die sehr individuelle Methoden entwickeln, um neue Sichtweisen zu ermöglichen.
Der ZERO-Künstler Adolf Luther (1912-1990) betrieb bereits seit den 1950er Jahren eine radikale Abkehr vom gemalten Bild. Seine „energetische“ Kunst war eine Reaktion auf das durch Wissenschaft und Informationen ins Wanken geratene Wirklichkeitsbild mit dem Ziel, die Lichtwahrnehmung selbst ins Zentrum des Betrachters zu rücken. Er entwickelte seine Konzeption vor dem Hintergrund der Überlegung, dass sich der unsichtbare energetische Bereich der Wirklichkeit der Abbildung entzieht.
Nachfolgende Künstlergenerationen erhärten diese Auffassung. So erforscht Alexei Kostroma (*1962) systematisch die Wahrnehmung von Farben. Er dokumentiert mit gelben Pigmentarbeiten seinen individuellen Blick in die Sonne - eine wahre oder trügerische Abbildung auf der Retina?
In den Werken von Carsten Goering (*1982) und Claus Georg Stabe (*1984) könnte man eher eine Art „tomografischen Blick“ vermuten, denn sie untersuchen in ihren Bildern die Zwischenräume der visuellen Eindrücke auf Wahrheitsgehalt und auf weitere individuelle Aufschlüsse.

REITER Berlin prospect and 401contemporary are pleased to invite to this intergenerational exhibition by four artists, offering them a platform to discover a connectedness across the boundaries of time.
Since the 1950s the ZERO-artist Adolf Luther’s art was a reaction to the crisis in the world of painting, as well as to the wavering image of reality brought about by technology and scientific innovation. Luther (1912-1990) made a radical departure from the painted image with the goal of shifting light perception itself to the centre of the observerʼs visual experience.
Alexei Kostroma (*1962) systematically explores the perception of colors, too. In his yellow pigment works, for example, he documents his individual views at the sun, questioning if it is the truth or a deceptive picture we are looking at.
In the works of Carsten Goering (*1982) and Claus Stabe (*1984), one might rather assume a kind of "tomographic view", as they are examining the space in-between their works for visual impressions on truth content and individual outlines.
