Growing up with digital culture I noticed that artificial networks offer an indefinite artistic environment.
Being an escape from physicality im very interested in the implications of this self developing web.
Especially the new global language of constructed and deformed pictures is in my opinion highly sophisticated and primitive at the same time.
That`s why I feel a great disruption in the tradition of the arts and strangely enough a new need for narrative and inventive painting.
I would say the great narratives of our society are not dead and thuss painting as a theatrical stage becomes once again a new topic.
It is my opinion that inhuman aesthetics, emotion driven actions and overload of information pose a big threat to modern society.
Artists have become entertainers and entrepreneurs and while it`s commonly accepted to view art as a product I feel this to be an excluding point of view.
In short it offers no space for criticism or moral questions.
Being impressed by those artists fighting against the institutional status quo my ideal as an artist is to find that paradise Gauguin was searching for.
And then again that paradise is virtual now.
Not so serious fragment
