Image Movement is delighted to present »Erbsen« (peas) an edition of jumpers by artist Andreas Schulze.
Since the 1980s the pea has been one of the favorite motifs of Cologne-based painter Andreas Schulze: starting with the graphic series »Raststätten« (roadhouses), as an abstractive element in numerous portrait works, or lastly and most prominent in the large installation »Erbsenstraßen« (roads of peas) at Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt in 2014.
When asked in an interview "Why peas?", he gave the cogent answer: "cucumbers would have been bad".
The jumpers were manufactured in Berlin. Made of 100% organic cotton (GOTS), screen-printed with phosphorescent color by Handsiebdruckerei, Berlin, tailored and sewed by Zwischenmeisterei 110%ig.
The jumpers will be available in colors grey and black, in sizes S, M, L and XL, at the price of 350 € each. They come with a certificate in a numbered edition of 72 copies.
Co-instantaneous with this presentation, Andreas Schulze will design the window-front of Image Movement with a large-scale print. As number 13 in our UTS-series it will be on view for several weeks.
The artist will be present.
We will serve some self-evident stew.
Admission is free.
