Portrait des Armand Ohrbaum

At first glance, there is a supposedly classic portrait, depicted with half the upper part of the body, in profile and against a neutral background. However, we do not see a head, but an enlarged ear, which has surreally taken the place of the head. The ear, which usually has a shadowy existence in portraiture, acquires an exaggerated presence here. (Text Michael Babics, Curator Kunsthalle Palazzo)
