At the center of my productions are portraits of people.
By depicting them, I use them as part of a narrative sequence.
They are found in stories and help me to illustrate my own.
I combine these portraits with other three-dimensional objects. Eventhough they are autonomous sculptures they complete my presentation.
The portrayal is made up of figures, persons, films, music or even other representations of people who have deeply impressed me at some point in time. They are actors in my imagination, but in their presentation and character also part of a general experience.
Up-to-dateness does not seem to be important in my work but it happens sometimes.
These figures are often made of plastic or wood, sometimes in combination with other materials.
For my figures I use commercially available epoxy resins often in a way that the material properties support the represented materialities. The materials bring their own color into the picture.
