What is it about your studio space that inspires you?

The moment I enter my studio , I step into another space, a laboratory, a free space.

What sounds, scents and sights do you encounter while in your studio?

Great space, high ceiling, beautiful light surrounded by nature.

What is your favourite material to work with? How has your use of it evolved throughout your practice?

My favourite material is acrylic paint, because it can also be fluid, drys fast. Also pigments and whatever binds the pigment, and all kinds of mediums, to change the expression of the paint. I like to reuse and recycle material. Also my own work if necessary. My work has evolved from the flat surface to more layered and sculptural work.

What themes do you pursue?

Time, repetition and layering are themes. I work in series to structure my working process, It's all about (the) painting itself and the painting. as an object, as a thing and the way it evolves. Color, material, beauty, abstraction and minimalism.

What advice has had the biggest impact on your career?

To believe in yourself and choose your own path.

If you could install your art absolutely anywhere, where would that be?

A place where the work can be totally free and independent with lots of space and light.
