Sopic’s work confronts and manipulates various aesthetic surfaces ranging from blank unpainted canvases, industrially produced fabrics, transparent and reflective silver foils, felt and found digital images with their pre-existing material structures and meanings. Sopic assembles and folds found advertising images or film stills creating three-dimensional almost sculptural works, where parts of the images are hidden and parts are left revealed, resulting in new, more nuanced compositions. An evident immersive and chaotic medium-confusion is confined here within the image objects, suspended with a definite and bounded physical presence on the gallery wall. [...]
[...] Further, beginning of 2016, coming from the fine art field, Sopic established an interdisciplinary design studio that is specialised in production of lamps, tables and chairs. The main focus of this studio’s activities rests on designing, producing and presenting furniture. All works, which are produced, published and distributed by this studio oscillate at the interface of art and design, which means, the approach into the design is critical and the functions of these objects vary.[...]

What is it about your studio space that inspires you?
it is a place where anything can happen
What sounds, scents and sights do you encounter while in your studio?
piano practicing sounds of one of my neighbours, which i love listening to. he is working really hard. we're in the same boat, as we're failing and trying to get better in the course of time, we share the same challenge.
What is your favourite material to work with? How has your use of it evolved throughout your practice?
expectations, on both sides (artist and viewer) are making work all the more interesting. I quite prefer it when expectations are not met, not even my own, because this will force me to revalue, think, question, it keeps me going. I can't think of a much better source to draw from.
What themes do you pursue?
it may look unlikely, but Romanticism is in fact one recurring subject of interest
What advice has had the biggest impact on your career?
1. "continue working, no matter what" // 2. "it goes on in one way or another"
If you could install your art absolutely anywhere, where would that be?
anywhere, art should reach everyone and everyone should have access to art. secretly though, i would love to see one of my sculptures orbiting the earth in a space station
What are your favourite places besides your studio?
parks in the summer: friends, strawberries, red wine go along with a good conversation and a good laugh; my library; very basic, but quite nurturing
