Wolfgang Lugmair is back from his residency in Mexico City where most of the works on display were painted. In the beautifully exhibited show " Stadt, Land und schöner Himmel" Lugmair portrays, in his impeccable style, lone figures coalescing with their surroundings or set apart from it. Distant vantage points and a bird eye perspective are as close as the viewer is allowed onto the carnival grounds or into the shopping center. The question of ones place and ones identity remain a central topic of his work.
