In collaboration with Koenig Books, Blain|Southern publishes the most comprehensive monograph to date on the artist Jonas Burgert. With over sixty full colour plates, the publication is an overview of his recent paintings and sculptures, including the monumental stück hirn blind. Spanning eight metres, the painting was first shown at Blain|Southern in 2014.
Unparalleled in his contemporary construction of the figurative realm, Burgert is known for creating monumental works composed of figurative apparitions and dramatic contrasts of colour.
The monograph details his newer works interspersed with earlier paintings and includes an essay by Will Self and in conversation with the artist and psychoanalyst Anouchka Grose.
