A quick look back and into the future.
From 27.8. until 30.9.2019 I had a scholarship of the TNT Artist Residence in Dafen, Shenzhen, China. My self-imposed task was an exchange and collaboration with the painters-copyists of the Dafen oil painting village and my work. My art project was a painting in a painting. Mrs Shang Yuging and Mr Zhang Xiaoxuan have each painted a Van Gogh picture in my picture and I reacted to it picturesquely. A painted picture of a European Viewer of Chiniese copies of European Art. Also originated there is a series "Observer". The binoculars bring the distant close up and thus bridges distances: Shenzhen and Berlin / culture shock China and homeland. The Chinese script comes from the picture. The drawings are thus based on exhibition situations of European observers who, among other things, look at Chinese typefaces. At the end of my scholarship there was an exhibition opening and at the moment I am part of a group exhibition "flower power" in the TNT gallery in China. The two big pictures I painted in China will be shown in another group exhibition in two months in the same gallery.
