Zuzanna Skiba ist eine zeitgenössische Künstlerin, die ihr Thema mit bestimmten Materialien in
Bewegung setzt. In ihren Bildern konzentriert sie sich auf eine Verortung an einem bestimmten
Zeitpunkt. Der Punkt, den sie zu vermitteln sucht, ist die Präsenz der Existenz in ihrer Verortung.
Ebenso bringt sie indifferente universelle Hintergründe mit abstrakten Formen zusammen, die
einen künstlerischen Blick auf physische Objekte zum Ausdruck hervorheben. Skiba schafft aber
in ihren Werken eine Zeit-und-Raum-Umgebung, die keine festen Standorte enthält. Diese ambivalente
Wirkung verbindet den Zuschauer direkt mit der Wahrnehmung der Künstlerin. Neben
der Erfahrung der Beobachtung in der Natur, einer Stadt und ihres Selbst ist die pure Existenz an
dieser Umgebung beteiligt.
Die aktuelle Ausstellung mit dem Titel AUFGELADEN ist ein neuer Weg, um Skibas Magnetfelder-
Malerei zu sehen. Ihre typische ausgeprägte Arbeitsweise ist es, getrennte Linien, die einander
nicht berühren, sondern sich in eine Richtung bewegen, rhythmisch zu mobilisieren. Aus genau
dieser Bewegung wird eine imaginäre Landschaftsform wie mit einem Windhauch erschaffen.
Der dunkle Hintergrund der neuen Hauptbilder Sonnenrausch I + II erzeugt die Illusion
einer abhebenden Bewegung. Auch der Titel Sonnenrausch führt uns dazu, weil diese Bilder eine
Übersetzung der Erfahrung, auch eines Rauschs sind und schließlich von der statischen Umgebung
getrennt werden. Es ist der dunkle azurblaue Himmel, der die Schließung der Goldblätter
verschwinden lässt, bis unsere Augen in einer Finsternis zu sehen beginnen.
Zuzanna Skiba hat in den letzten 10 Jahren an dem Werkzyklus Sonnenrausch gearbeitet.
Die Farbschichten verbergen Schritt für Schritt diese Dauer. Die Spekulationen über unsere
Gedanken eines aktuellen Moments, in denen das Leben passiert, sind eingespeichert.

Zuzanna Skiba is a contemporary artist working with a subject of a certain material and the movement of it.
In her paintings she concentrates on feelings of a particular moment. A point where she is trying to convey
that the subject is staying in the same position. She is using an indifferent universal background for abstract
forms that expressed an artistic view on physical objects. Zuzanna Skiba creates a colorful ‘time-and-space’
environment without locations included. This ambiguous effect makes a spectator become directly connected
with the painter’s perception of reality. As well as having the experience of observing nature, a city, and their
self; the human being involved in these surroundings.
A current exhibition called AUFGELADEN _CHARGED is a new way to look at magnetic fields of
Skiba’s painting. Their nature is in separated lines that do not touch one another but move in one direction
which is believed to create an imaginary landscape and its movement.
Two main paintings called, Sonnenrausch I and Sonnenrausch II (Sun intoxication I and Sun intoxication II)
are a quintessence of an inspiration produced by an impression of Unter den Linden. This significant street
of Berlin that is considered like a mental map of the city where trees are grown there, remind about one’s
connection with his or her roots and a belonging to a common history, the common feeling of time. Lying on
the ground, Skiba had been taking many photos of the trees keeping in mind two pictures showing different
concepts of movement.
First, there is a mountain map where the top of it is shown through a series of circles with one inside of
another that corresponds with a linear tradition of the description of the space. The second photograph is of
a cross section, the trees where circles represent their age that leads to a human perception of the time that
has past. Visual images are more comprehensible for our perception due to a time stamp that’s equal with
physical adjustments. Using short curly strokes, the artist reveals an intense movement in two contrast directions:
going deeper and higher. Bending gold lines cover the blue space and a juxtaposition of balancing colors.
The dark brown background creates an illusion of a movement of static pictures provided by the viewer’s
eyes. It also leads to titles, because these paintings are a translation of experience and also a vertigo when
you are disconnected with the surroundings. There is the azure sky that is seen through gold leaves disappearing
in a darkness of the closing eyes. Together these colors mix into emerald shape and it is an illusion to a
previous series of Skiba’s paintings that have been made.
Zuzanna Skiba had been working on Sonnenrausch I and Sonnenrausch II for almost 10 years. All
coats of paints were hidden steps in the time-and-space. Thoughts about her creation on canvases produce
speculations about our thoughts of a current moments happening in ones’ own life and maybe even how a
