The latest exhibition from Robert Seidel features a selection of his latest egg tempura canvases. Seidel uses this historical technique to create unique works. His painting style produces works that have elements of both reality and fantasy. The lines and tones he creates seem to be influences by computer generated imagery yet they have been created by hand using a technique that is so old it was used to paint early Egyptian sarcophagi. This combination of method and technique makes Seidel’s paintings stand out from the crowd, creates great intrigue and cements him as an incredible contemporary painter.
In his latest exhibition, ZIRKEL, Seidel continues to explore architecture and objects of the everyday. Seidel approaches his art not only as an artist but also as an historian with a fascination for the makeup of our world. Seidel’s reproduction of his subject allows him to comment, not through the use of word, but utilizing his unique skill as a painter.
