Thierleben   |  Event

With his first exhibition at the Galerie Judin, Hugo Wilson (* 1982), addresses animal groups as a reflection of human society. These are complex pictorial structures, which the artist first develops as digital collages and then translates them into wood panels in an old masters manner. Wilson's motifs play not only with our social image memory or actual or supposed re-recognition values, but also with the truth content of today's picture events: so the painting I Get It goes back to a photo that shows a weasel on a ride on a green horse. It has become an internet phenomenon and the occasion for heated discussions about real and false picture messages in the digital age.
