Container Love
Sculptor Susanne Ring, Berlin, 1966, is most known for her ceramic figures. Her intense interaction with material is far from the average approach to handcrafts.
She has a fascination for odd abnormality and her fantastical allegorical universes comprise of apparently age-old statues, conspicuous by substantial cracks, entry points, disfigurements, amputations and by expressive faces. She blends her clay with other ingredients, such as wood, porcelain and cement, in the end combining with other objects into ensembles. These figure compositions are a statement of human relationships, of emotions, fears, recollections, dreams and desires.
In this exhibition she shall show her latest clay works combined with drawings.
