Aneta Kajzer in conversation with Julia Rosenbaum
26 October 2017, 7p.m. | Künstlerhaus Bethanien
Aneta Kajzer belongs to a new generation of female painters that - free from any pathos - dedicate themselves to the play of colours. Denoting are her electric, seemingly ironic play with abstraction and the references to pop and youth culture. The Winsor & Newton Residency has given the young painter the opportunity to work on large scale formats, works that she will introduce in discourse with Julia Rosenbaum. Rosenbaum and Kajzer will speak about the progress of her work during her residency, her urge for colour and painting not forfeiting any appeal despite the ever evolving media diversity.
Has a young generation of female painters freed the practice of large format works from its male connotation?
Aneta Kajzer (1989, Kattowice, Poland) 2011-2017 Kunsthochschule Mainz, Fine Arts and Painting with Prof. Anne Berning, Prof. John Skoog and Prof. Shannon Bool.
Julia Rosenbaum (born 1978) Art historian and art consultant for several institutions such as Deutsche Bank KunstHalle, studiovisits.de, littlekriminals.de
