In this series of four hand-embroidered works, intertwined masks reveal faces that intersect, respond to one another, and sometimes fade away. Each head seems to whisper to the other, engaged in a silent dialogue where identities confront and merge.
Inspired by George Sand's tale "Ce que disent les fleurs" _ "What Flowers Say" written for her granddaughters, this work echoes the idea of comparison and exchange, much like flowers observing and judging one another. Yet beyond this literary reference, these embroideries question the masks we all wear—those we choose, those we endure. Singular, multiple masks that both conceal and reveal.
Through this interplay of forms and textures, Patricia explores the complexity of identities, the boundaries between self and others, and the fragile beauty of what connects us.
