Since the introduction of the Euro, the common currency seemed as if embedded in concrete. Immovable, hard, and heavy. Current developments unveil, however, an additional similarity between the Euro and concrete, which has inspired Jan Kuck for this work: over time both cement and euro show fine cracks, which can break both of them.
The sculpture IT’S WORTH IT will last due to its solid inner construct, which can only be hoped for the Euro. The over dimensioned cast-in-concrete 0-Euro coin serves as a metaphor for general moral concepts and their continuous collapses.
And finally are the most valuable things in our world priceless. Therefore IT‘S WORTH IT is also a metaphor that you can‘t price everything.
