Painting has another kind of materialisation that is seemingly at odds with the speed of social media, it is inherently contemplative and operates at a drastically slowed down pace. This work belongs to a small series of heads, each work was made through utilizing alternatives to traditional painterly processes, such as spraying, pouring, printing and erasing. These processes have their precedents from pop to post painterly abstraction. I'm curious how culture and contemporary living give rise to the debates around painting today and for the future. This work is a classical portrait of a mans head, he appears to be screaming, is he coming into view or gradually disappearing?
