Jorinde Voigt’s 'A Difference that makes a Difference' series, true to its title, is founded on contrast. It is part action painting, as Voigt unleashes black ink over the page, and part intricate diagram, the gold area and threads of red ink arranged carefully in tension with the splatter behind. Voigt has had solo exhibitions around the world and her work is in several museums and collections, such as the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, MOMA in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin, the Federal Art Collection Bonn, the Hamburger Kunsthalle, and the Grafische Sammlung in Munich. She received the Otto Dix award from the city of Gera in 2008 and won the Daniel & Florence Guerlain Contemporary Drawing award in 2012.
