Tina Oelker was born on December 7, 1973 at ten past seven in the morning in Hamm-Westphalia and lives in Hamburg since 1995. At school art is her best subject, with excellent grades she escapes conformism and pedagogical measures. Her first exhibition in 1990 "The Load of the Night Fishes" is a financial success, she has enough money for the bus ticket, school books, working material and the trip to Portofino. At the age of 20 she flees from the institutions of fine arts, now contemporary, and mixes up the scene in Manhattan. Young, wild, free-spirited, charged and fluent in the New York language, she began a tough integration phase into the Hanseatic world of Hamburg in 1995. Tina takes advantage of the state-supported training at the University of Applied Sciences, at the end of the 90s still College of Design, appropriates photography, printing, graphics, strategy, continues to exhibit and perform in clubs and museums. With the fall of the towers in 2001 the hare starts rolling, a fleeting rise at the Academy of Fine Arts follows, in 2003 the shooting party in the midst of Hamburg's affluent society and the diploma at the same place.Hunting, game, sexuality and again free development, constant refreshments in Manhattan and Italy lead Oelker to the decision to paint a thousand hares. "Hasenmanufaktur Hamburg, 1000 hares - limited edition" becomes a press event, a box office hit, a crowd puller, wanted by the Hamburg and Berlin State Criminal Investigation Department and irritation package for the market until 2014. Seemingly incidentally, overshadowed by the motif of the brown hare, a complex oeuvre of paintings, texts, drawings, photo collages, recordings, performances, short films, installations, objects and evening performances emerges. During this time, Tina Oelker conceives, curates and organizes several group exhibitions in what is by then her second producer gallery. In 2015 follows a phase of retreat and contemplation, she devotes herself again to abstract painting. 25 Colours Stockholm serves as an aesthetic orientation and is detached from chronoligical as well as thematic way of working.
Tina Oelker is direct in her painting, does not look for themes, stays with the gods and leaves the hare free. Those who look for chronological or contemporary analogies find themselves virtually in her world. Thus, in 2017, Oelker begins the social evenings and situationally conveys her complex work to a selected audience in each case, playfully as well as intensively communicates the connections and repeatedly enters into dialogue. In 2021, her book Von Hasen und Göttern (Of Hares and Gods) is published and summarizes in writing and image all that is hinted at here from 2001 to 2021.

Schützenfest Reloaded

Experimentelle Kurzfilm-Dokumentation (03:33Min)
