„It is an island in the polluted sea of urban-industrial modernity, the one place we can turn for escape from our own too-muchness.[It] offers us the illusion that we can escape the cares and troubles of the world in which our past has ensnared us.“ (William Cronon (1996): uncommon ground, p.69/80)

Standing close together, the trunks rise almost gloomily in the sky. The tree tops remain concealed to the viewer. Only the roots are deeply digged into the ground and leave the impression of an ancient forest landscape. In another picture the firs of a clearing seem to move easily to and fro. Another work shows bright, coloured leaves hanging from branches or covering the mossy ground.
Katharina Albers, born in 1985, lives and works in Berlin. As a former master student of Prof. Thomas Zipp, Albers graduated from the University of Fine Arts Berlin 2015. Since 2011, Albers works with lithography. She develops the picture layer for layer: clear drawings, hatchings, watercolour-like and covering colours are overlapping each other. Mingling color together, creates accidental shades. No picture is like the other, however, they are alike and grow together as a constantly transforming whole.
