The former student of A.R.Penck resides and works in a voluptuous flat in Potsdamer Strasse, Berlin - the new hot area for art galleries.  He loves to rearrange his working environment by taking work into private rooms and vice versa, which is apparent by the lush white sofa currently in his studio.

As a person of noble modesty, his art is very delicate. I have never met an artist who reflects his personality so perfectly in his art.

Acrylic colours are his medium. He prefers them, „because they are quick and light“.

He „plays" on a mirror every day, arranging objects he finds. Looking around, one realizes that probably everything is displayed in that way. That´s why the rooms look so tidy and well maintained. „I need to act like this" Jan says, „because I have no storage at all". Except in the kitchen, where he vanishes to prepare some artichokes.
